NewSun Energy is a renewable energy development and investment company that specializes in electric power grid interconnection and transmission in the Pacific Northwest. We focus on clean power solutions for Bonneville Power Administration markets, customers, and public power. We have developed more than $200 million in solar energy facilities and have a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of projects encompassing solar, wind, battery storage, and pumped storage.

Founded in 2015 by entrepreneur Jake Stephens, NewSun is driving the achievable pace of decarbonization in the Pacific Northwest. Our development pipeline of more than 10,000 megawatts of high-viability solar and storage is strategically designed to scale and grow with our customers' needs. With more than one gigawatt of new, carbon-free projects on track to be energized by 2028, we are helping Oregon and Washington meet ambitious emissions reduction goals. 

Headquartered in Bend, Oregon, NewSun has offices in Portland, Oregon and Tucson, Arizona, as well as an extensive ecosystem of consultants and advisors across the Western United States. Our team brings decades of expertise successfully developing, permitting, financing, and operating large-scale projects.
